The Role of HR in Supporting Saudization and Vision 2030

Category: Human Resources

How the HR department can become a genuine partner in achieving Saudization goals within the organization.

Saudization isn't just a quota to hit, it's a real shift in how workforce planning gets done, and the HR department is the one driving that shift from the inside.

**Long-term planning, not a quick fix**

Many organizations treat Saudization as an urgent crisis that needs an immediate fix, but successful organizations build a two-to-three-year Saudization plan with clear pathways for gradually developing national talent.

**Building internal development programs**

Instead of relying solely on external hiring, effective HR teams build internal training and development programs that gradually prepare national employees for higher-level roles.

**Partnering with training and education providers**

Ongoing engagement with specialized training centers makes it easier for HR to access genuinely qualified national talent, not just candidates holding theoretical certificates.

**Measure impact, not just the percentage**

Rather than settling for tracking the Saudization percentage on paper, also measure the performance and productivity of national employees, that gives you a much clearer picture of how the plan is actually working.

**Retaining national talent**

Saudization isn't just about hiring, it's also about retaining talent once they've been trained and developed, through clear promotion pathways and a motivating work environment.

The HR department that treats Saudization as an opportunity to build a strong national workforce, rather than just a compliance requirement, is the one that delivers genuinely sustainable results.
